Description

Kakamega Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale addresses hundreds of mourners in Irobo village, Kakamega County. On Saturday, February 7, 2015, during the burial service of the late Petronilah Kaka, the Senator expressed deep shock over the assassination of Kabete MP George Muchai, who had been shot dead in Nairobi just hours earlier that morning. Khalwale called on the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government, Joseph Nkaissery, to launch a swift and thorough investigation into the brutal murder of the lawmaker, his two bodyguards, and a driver. He emphasized that the rising cases of insecurity and targeted assassinations were a threat to national stability, stating that “all Kenyans should be assured of their security for them to continue doing their daily business” without fear. While the funeral was intended to honor Petronilah Kaka, the session was dominated by calls for government accountability, with Khalwale urging the state to reveal the motive behind the Nairobi CBD shooting to stop the growing anxiety across the country. February 7, 2015.
