Co-operatives Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui visited an avocado stand during the relaunching of the Maragua Milk Processing Plant in Murang’a County on March 29, 2024. Avocado cultivation for export has captured the attention of smallholder farmers in rural parts of Kenya, with the crop selling approximately 70,000 tons of fruit annually to international markets.
