Description

Sports CS Salim Mvurya and KDF officers review a new design for Ruring’u Stadium in Nyeri Town during an inspection tour on March 27, 2025, amid stalled construction. Seven years after its launch, the site remains overgrown and unfinished. The visit comes a week before President William Ruto’s scheduled tour of the region. Mvurya stated that he is assessing stadium projects to identify and resolve issues causing delays. The government will involve the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to support the contractor and ensure the work gets done—this time, with military precision. Construction is set to resume next week, just in time for an expected visit from President William Ruto for a development tour.
