L-R: Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Monica Juma, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forestry Keriako Tobiko, and PS Shipping and Maritime Nancy Karigithu during a press conference on the Sustainable Blue Economy conference slated for November 26-28, 2018, in Nairobi. Following the Pledging Conference on June 20th, 2018, that marked the start of the pledging season that ended on October 31st, 2018, the press conference was used to announce the list of nations that supported the Kshs 700 million budget for the conference. The Sustainable Blue Economy Conference is the first global conference on the sustainable blue economy with over 4,000 participants drawn from 180 countries. Among the nations that contributed include Ireland, Norway, France, Fiji, China, Japan, South Africa, Nigeria, Portugal, Qatar, Oman, United Kigdom, to mention but a few. State Corporations such as Kenya Ports Authority, CMA, contributed to the kitty too.
